  • To celebrate our cultural heritage by showcasing our distinctive traditional history of (ndi Igbo people from Old Orlu Province), engaging our youths to participates in our cultural outreach and to bringing our Diaspora families closer.

OOPU Membership Benefits

  • Old Orlu Progressive Union have a House Group Life Insurance that will be paid to the beneficiary of our member who experience death for any reason except suicidal act.
  • The union shall give all credible assistance to see the success of the wedding of a member upon request. The member in good standing and financially up to date shall receive a financial benefit a check of $250 and recognize with plaque.
  • The Union shall present a check for $100 (One Hundred Dollars) to a member, if invited to a christening party. Each member shall be entitled to only one Christening within a 12 months (Twelve) period
  • The Union shall attend the graduation party of any member who has graduated from a University or Vocational Institution, but if the Union was invited and will present a check of $100 (One Hundred Dollars).
  • The Union shall be represented if any member officially invites the Union to a Silver or Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration. The Union representative shall present to the celebrant a befitting present of no more than $250 (Two Hundred and Fifty dollars) for such an occasion.
  • Death Benefit; when a member or the spouse dies, the following procedure shall be followed to accord our final respect. The Union shall donate the sum of $5,000.00 (Five Thousand dollars), to the Bereaved beneficiary. Upon the death of a registered member’s wife, the union shall donate $5,000 (Five Thousand dollars), to the member. Upon the death of a registered member’s child except in the case of a still- birth, the Union shall disburse to that family a total sum of $2,000 (Two Thousand dollars). Upon the death of a registered member’s biological parents (Parents or mother), who is not in the United states, the Union shall donate to that member the sum of $1,200 (One Thousand two hundred dollars).
